SENATE BILL NO. 49

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 RELATING TO THE DELAWARE COMMISSION ON ITALIAN HERITAGE AND CULTURE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1.Amend �3501(a), Title 29, Delaware Code, by deleting the sentence: "No member shall be appointed for more than 3 consecutive terms."

Section 2.Amend �3501(f), Title 29, Delaware Code, by deleting the phrase "and shall not count toward the 3 consecutive-term limitation on service".

SYNOPSIS

The Bill adjusts the limitation in the current law limiting a commissioner to no more than 3 consecutive terms.This Bill would give the Governor, President Pro Tempore, and Speaker authority to reappoint members to more than 3 consecutive terms if they feel it appropriate to take advantage of a member or members' invaluable experience.
