SENATE BILL NO. 177

AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 4, TITLE 4 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE DIVISION OF ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO ENFORCEMENT.


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:


Section 1.Amend Chapter 4, Title 4 of the Delaware Code by making insertions as shown by underlining and deletions as shown by strike through as follows::

§ 402. Location of office.

The main office of the Division shall be in New Castle County.


SYNOPSIS

This is a housekeeping initiative to amend Title 4 of the Delaware to repeal §402 which states that the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement's (DATE) main office is in New Castle County, Delaware. As a state agency, DATE provides services to all three counties in Delaware and this gives DATE the flexibility to centralize and improve the efficiency of its operations.DATE plans to continue to maintain its office in Wilmington at the Carvel State Office Building.
