RECOGNIZING MARCH 25, 2016 AS "RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE IN REMEMBRANCE OF MADISON PETERMAN. |
WHEREAS, on the day of April 13, 2009, Representative Jack Peterman's granddaughter, Madison Peterman, wife, Sandy Peterman, and friend, Hannah Davies, were killed when a propane truck collided with their vehicle; and
WHEREAS, in 2014, the Peterman family along with the community of Milford, Delaware, began to celebrate Madison Peterman's life by performing random acts of kindness on her birthday, March 25; and
WHEREAS, through the support of the Peterman family and the Milford community, this tragic loss of life was turned into a celebration of a young girl's life, memory, and infinite kindness; and
WHEREAS, March 25, 2016 would have been Madison Peterman's 16th birthday; and
WHEREAS, random acts of kindness carry the power of healing sadness; and
WHEREAS, performing random acts of kindness is a way to celebrate Madison Peterman's life and carry on her endlessly kind, loving, and hopeful spirit;
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 148th General Assembly of the State of Delaware that we hereby recognize March 25, 2016, as "Random Acts of Kindness Day", remembering a life lost far too young and carrying on the spirit of hope, love, and kindness throughout the State.
