150th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 78

DESIGNATING THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2020 AS "HUMAN RELATIONS AWARENESS MONTH" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.

WHEREAS, the mission of the Delaware State Human Relations Commission works collaboratively to foster amicable relationships among the diverse populations of Delaware and to enforce laws against discrimination (public accommodations and housing); and

WHEREAS, in recognition of Human Relations Awareness Month (January) a statewide series of “Share and Learn” community dialogue sessions have been scheduled to share information about the Commission, and learn with and from each other about the progress of racism, discrimination, diversity and inclusion in Delaware; and

WHEREAS, the month of January 2020 has been designated as Human Relations Awareness Month in the State of Delaware.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 150 ^th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, that we recognize the vital importance of Human Relations and the valuable work of the Delaware State Human Relations Commission in educating the citizens of Delaware.

SYNOPSIS

This resolution designates January 2020 as "Human Relations Awareness Month" in Delaware.
