AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO STRANGULATION.


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:


Section 1.Amend §4201(c), Title 11 of the Delaware Codeby making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions shown by underline as follows and redesignating accordingly:

(c) The following felonies shall be designated as violent felonies:

607 Strangulation


SYNOPSIS

In 2010, the Legislature added the crime of Strangulation, a Class D or Class E felony, to the Delaware Code.This bill adds Strangulation to the list of violent felonies.As a result, the provisions of 11 Del. C. §2116 governing the revocation of bail upon subsequent arrest shall apply to an offense of Strangulation.
