Summary

As introduced Bill 23-646 requires the Office of the State Superintendent of Education to convene a task force to study issues relating to best practices for the promotion of social-emotional learning in schools, promote and expand social-emotional learning, and to submit recommendations to the Council. The duties of the task force include aligning the standards and benchmarks for social-emotional learning with other relevant standards and guidelines including the health and physical education K-12 learning standards and early learning and development guidelines and analyzing the suspension and expulsion rates, prior to and after, a successful model has been implemented in a school district.
