AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL FORECLOSURE ACTIONS ON TAX LIENS AND LIENS ON BLIGHTED REAL ESTATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2017) An action to foreclose a tax lien pursuant to section 12-181 of the general statutes or a lien on blighted real estate imposed pursuant to section 7-148aa of the general statutes, commenced in the Superior Court by a municipality on or after the effective date of this section, shall be granted preferred case status by the court.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To require the Superior Court to grant preferred case status to actions to foreclose tax liens and liens on blighted residential property commenced by municipalities.
