AN ACT REQUIRING NEW STATE EMPLOYEES TO PARTICIPATE IN A DEFINED CONTRIBUTION RETIREMENT PLAN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require all employees who entered state service after June 1, 2011, to participate in a defined contribution retirement plan rather than the current defined benefit system.
Statement of Purpose:
To ease the financial burden on the state by switching new state employees to a defined contribution retirement plan rather than the current defined benefit retirement plan.
