AN ACT ESTABLISHING ELECTRONIC TOLLS ON CONNECTICUT'S HIGHWAYS USING A CONGESTION PRICING SYSTEM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Transportation to establish electronic tolls on Connecticut's highways using a congestion pricing system in which motor vehicle operators would pay increased toll rates for operating vehicles during peak travel times or on congested highways.
Statement of Purpose:
To ease traffic congestion by establishing electronic tolls using a congestion pricing system and raise revenue for long-term transportation infrastructure projects.
