AN ACT CONCERNING THE AUTHORITY OF THE OFFICE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD TO RECOGNIZE ELIGIBLE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMS THAT SATISFY THE STAFF QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 10-16p of the general statutes be amended to require the Office of Early Childhood to expand the list of eligible institutions of higher education that award bachelor's degrees in early childhood education and child development that satisfy the staff qualifications requirement.

Statement of Purpose:

To require the Office of Early Childhood to allow individuals who hold a bachelor's degree with a concentration in early childhood education from any accredited institution of higher education in the United States to teach in an early childhood education program.
