AN ACT PERMITTING MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES TO SERVE AS CITATION HEARING OFFICERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 7-152c of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2011):

(b) The chief executive officer of any such municipality shall appoint one or more citation hearing officers, other than police officers [or employees] or persons who issue citations, to conduct the hearings authorized by this section.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

To allow certain municipal employees to serve as citation hearing officers.
