AN ACT CONCERNING MINIMUM EARNINGS FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 31-225a of the general statutes be amended to require an employer to pay wages of two thousand dollars or more to a claimant in his or her base period before any benefits may be charged to that employer.

Statement of Purpose:

To save businesses money by providing that no benefits shall be charged to any employer who paid wages of two thousand dollars or less to a claimant in his or her base period.
