AN ACT CONCERNING MANUFACTURING FACILITIES AND INTERRUPTIBLE NATURAL GAS SERVICE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Section 16-19hh of the general statutes is amended by adding subsection (d) as follows (Effective October 1, 2017):

(NEW) (d) (1) Each gas company shall propose, in its first application for an amendment of rates filed pursuant to section 16-19 on or after October 1, 2017, an interruptible rate for manufacturing facilities that do not have a backup fuel. (2) No manufacturing facility shall utilize such interruptible rate, as described in subdivision (1) of this subsection, if such utilization would endanger the public health or safety.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
