AN ACT CONCERNING LEGISLATIVE MITIGATION OF PROJECTED STATE BUDGET DEFICITS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require that if the cumulative monthly financial statement issued by the Comptroller pursuant to section 3-115 of the general statutes for each of two consecutive months includes a projected General Fund deficit, the General Assembly shall enact legislation as necessary to prevent such projected deficit.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the legislature to adopt deficit mitigation measures if there is a projected budget deficit for two consecutive months.
