AN ACT CONCERNING THE DRIVING HISTORY RECORDS OF MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATORS WHOSE LICENSES WERE SUSPENDED FOR VIOLATING CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS PLACED ON DRIVERS WHO ARE SIXTEEN OR SEVENTEEN YEARS OF AGE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Motor Vehicles to remove from the driving history records of any holder of a motor vehicle operator's license, upon such holder reaching the age of eighteen, any record of a license suspension occurring when such holder was sixteen or seventeen years of age for violating the provisions of subsection (a) of section 14-36g of the general statutes, which concerns restrictions on the transportation of passengers and hours of operation of motor vehicles by holders of motor vehicle operator's licenses who are sixteen or seventeen years of age, provided such violation did not involve personal injury to any third party.

Statement of Purpose:

To remove records of license suspensions for violations of certain teen driving laws from the driving history records of motor vehicle operators who have reached the age of eighteen to aid such operators in obtaining automobile insurance.
