AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SIXTY-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR THE SALE OF PAWNED PROPERTY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 409 of the general statutes be amended to provide that no pawnbroker shall sell or dispose of any personal property obtained by way of pledge, deposit or purchase in less than sixty days from the date when such personal property was obtained by such pawnbroker.

Statement of Purpose:

To establish a mandatory waiting period prior to which pawned property may not be sold by a pawnbroker.
