AN ACT EXPANDING THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR PARKING SPACES DESIGNATED FOR PERSONS WHO ARE BLIND AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERSONS WITH CERTAIN MENTAL DISABILITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 14-253a of the general statutes be amended to allow the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles to issue permits to utilize parking spaces designated for persons who are blind and persons with disabilities to any applicant for such permit with a mental disability which limits or impairs such applicant's ability to walk.

Statement of Purpose:

To expand access to permits to utilize parking spaces designated for persons who are blind and persons with disabilities to persons with certain mental disabilities.
