AN ACT CONCERNING PROCEEDINGS INVOLVING THE DISPOSITION OF A DOG THAT HAS ATTACKED OR BITTEN A PERSON.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 22-358 of the general statutes be amended to provide that in any proceeding involving a person who is attacked or bitten by a dog, if there is a factual determination that the dog has been abused, such determination may be considered as a mitigating factor when determining the disposition of the dog.
Statement of Purpose:
To recognize abuse as a mitigating factor in any proceeding involving the disposition of a dog that has attacked or bitten a person.
