AN ACT CONCERNING THE ENFORCEMENT OF PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN AREAS RESERVED FOR PERSONS WHO ARE BLIND OR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require any local police officer who, in the course of the officer's duties, observes a motor vehicle parked in violation of section 14-253a of the general statutes, in an area reserved for exclusive use by persons who are blind or persons with disabilities without displaying a special license plate or placard, to issue either a written warning or a summons for commission of a violation of said section.

Statement of Purpose:

To require police officers to issue either a written warning or a summons for commission of a violation of the handicapped parking statute.
