AN ACT CONCERNING THE REDUCTION OF SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES WHEN A PARENT OR STUDENT DRIVES TO SCHOOL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-220 of the general statutes be amended to a permit a local or regional board of education to reduce its school transportation services when a parent or student opts out of such transportation services, provided any such parent or student may resume such transportation services upon written notice to such board.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce school transportation costs by eliminating the requirement to have a seat on the bus for each potential student.
