AN ACT CONCERNING THE AGE WHEN A SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENT SHALL BEGIN RECEIVING TRANSITION SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That part V of chapter 164 of the general statutes be amended to require that any child receiving special education services who is fourteen years of age shall begin receiving transition services.

Statement of Purpose:

To lower the age for when a special education student is to begin receiving transition services to fourteen years of age.
