AN ACT PROHIBITING BOARDS OF EDUCATION FROM CHARGING MAGNET SCHOOL TUITION TO OTHER BOARDS OF EDUCATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (m) of section 10-264l of the general statutes be amended to prohibit an interdistrict magnet school operator that is a local or regional board of education from charging tuition to another local or regional board of education for each student that such other board is otherwise responsible for educating and who will be enrolled in an interdistrict magnet school under the operator's control.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit certain boards of education from charging magnet school tuition to other boards of education.
