AN ACT PROHIBITING ZONING COMMISSIONS FROM REQUIRING SPECIAL PERMITS OR SPECIAL EXEMPTIONS IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 8-2 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit municipal zoning commissions from requiring a special permit or special exemption for the continuance of a use, building or structure made nonconforming by new zoning regulations.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit municipal zoning commissions from requiring a special permit or special exemption for the continuance of a nonconforming use, building or structure.
