AN ACT REQUIRING BOARDS OF EDUCATION TO MAKE AVAILABLE CERTAIN INFORMATION RELATING STUDENT PRIVACY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require local and regional boards of education to make available to the parents or guardians of students at registration, on the school district's Internet web site or in the administrative offices of the school district the following information: (1) An annual disclosure notice that provides information about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, including the revisions made to such act in 2011, and (2) the privacy policies of any third-party education vendors that the board of education has contracted with.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide parents and guardians with information relating to student privacy.
