AN ACT CONCERNING OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 14-215 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any person whose operator's license has been suspended who operates a motor vehicle during the period of such suspension shall, in addition to any fine or term of imprisonment imposed, have such person's motor vehicle impounded for a period of twenty-four hours for each previous license suspension and shall, for a third or subsequent violation, be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of which thirty days may not be suspended or reduced.
Statement of Purpose:
To enhance penalties for persons who continue to drive while their license is under suspension.
