AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY THE COMPETITIVENESS OF STATE MOTOR VEHICLES FUEL TAXES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That a task force be established to study the price elasticity of motor fuels in Connecticut in order to determine the feasibility of reducing the regional diesel and gasoline taxes in this state to result in a per gallon tax that is at least $0.01 less than the lowest corresponding tax rate charged on the same fuels in the three states that border Connecticut.
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a task force to evaluate methods for increasing state fuel tax revenues by reducing diesel and gasoline tax rates as compared to the tax rates in neighboring states.
