AN ACT CONCERNING THE FORFEITURE OF MONEYS AND PROPERTY DERIVED FROM HUMAN OR SEX TRAFFICKING.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that the following property shall be subject to forfeiture to the state: (1) All moneys used, or intended for use, in a violation of section 53a-82, 53a-86 or 53a-192a of the general statutes; (2) all property constituting the proceeds obtained, directly or indirectly, from a violation of section 53a-82, 53a-86 or 53a-192a of the general statutes; (3) all property derived from the proceeds obtained, directly or indirectly, from any sale or exchange for pecuniary gain from a violation of 53a-82, 53a-86 or 53a-192a of the general statutes; and (4) all property used or intended for use, in any manner or part, to commit or facilitate the commission of a violation for pecuniary gain of section 53a-82, 53a-86 or 53a-192a of the general statutes.

Statement of Purpose:

To authorize the forfeiture of money and property used in or obtained or derived from the commission of the crimes involving human and sex trafficking.
