AN ACT CONCERNING THE PAYMENT OF PROPERTY TAXES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no homeowner with a home valued at five hundred thousand dollars or less shall be required to pay property taxes in an amount greater than such homeowner's state income tax liability, and to further establish a state grant to reimburse municipalities for any loss of revenue under this section.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent average homeowners from being required to pay unfairly high property taxes.
