AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF VOTER REGISTRATION CARDS BY LANDLORDS TO TENANTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require each landlord or their designated agent to provide each new tenant with a voter registration application, and (2) require registrars of voters to furnish preaddressed voter registration applications for this purpose, upon request.
Statement of Purpose:
To improve the administration of elections and reduce lines on election day by providing new residents of rental properties with voter registration applications when signing a lease or rental agreement.
