AN ACT CONCERNING LEASEBACKS AND THE PREVAILING WAGE THRESHOLD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subsection (h) of section 31-53 of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2012):
(h) [The] (1) Except as provided in subdivision (2) of this subsection, the provisions of this section do not apply where the total cost of all work to be performed by all contractors and subcontractors in connection with new construction of any public works project is less than four hundred thousand dollars or where the total cost of all work to be performed by all contractors and subcontractors in connection with any remodeling, refinishing, refurbishing, rehabilitation, alteration or repair of any public works project is less than one hundred thousand dollars.
(2) On or after January 1, 2013, but not later than December 31, 2014, the provisions of this section do not apply where the total cost of all work to be performed by all contractors and subcontractors in connection with (A) new construction of any public works project, or (B) new construction of any project to be leased during such time period, by the state or any of its agents, or by any political subdivision of the state or any of its agents, is less than seven hundred fifty thousand dollars or where the total cost of all work to be performed by all contractors and subcontractors in connection with any remodeling, refinishing, refurbishing, rehabilitation, alteration or repair of any public works project is less than one hundred thousand dollars.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||
