AN ACT REQUIRING STREET LIGHT SHUTOFFS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2010) The Commissioner of Transportation shall turn off all roadway lights on limited access highways, as defined in section 14-1 of the general statutes, at 1:00 a.m. unless the commissioner determines by written finding that special circumstances exist for a specific section of any limited access highway to warrant keeping the roadway lights on until dawn.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To conserve energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions related to roadway lights.
