AN ACT CONCERNING THE LICENSING OF SWIMMING POOL INSTALLERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) (a) As used in this section, "swimming pool" means any structure intended for swimming, including, but not limited to, in-ground and above-ground structures, but not including hot tubs and spas.

(b) No person shall install a swimming pool unless such person holds a swimming pool installer license issued by the Commissioner of Consumer Protection.

(c) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, to implement the provisions of this section, including establishing the amount and type of experience, training and examination requirements for a person to obtain a swimming pool installer license.

(d) Any person who installs a swimming pool on residential property owned by such person shall be exempt from the provisions of this section.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
