AN ACT EXPANDING THE "MOVE OVER" LAW.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 14-283 of the general statutes be amended to require a motor vehicle operator on a highway to move over one lane if a stationary vehicle is located on the shoulder, lane or breakdown lane of such highway.
Statement of Purpose:
To enact "Ashley Ferguson's law" to protect drivers by requiring an operator move over one lane if traveling in the lane adjacent to where a stationary vehicle is located on the highway.
