AN ACT EXEMPTING MOTOR VEHICLES FIVE OR LESS MODEL YEARS OF AGE FROM EMISSION INSPECTIONS AND ELIMINATING THE ADDITIONAL FEE CHARGED FOR THE REGISTRATION OF NEW MOTOR VEHICLES THAT ARE EXEMPT FROM EMISSION INSPECTIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 14-164c of the general statutes be amended to (1) exempt motor vehicles five or less model years of age from emission inspections, and (2) eliminate the forty-dollar fee payable in addition to any other fees for registration of new motor vehicles that are exempt from emission inspections.

Statement of Purpose:

To exempt motor vehicles five or less model years of age, instead of four or less model years of age, from emission inspections and to eliminate the additional registration fee charged for new motor vehicles that are exempt from emission inspections.
