AN ACT CONCERNING A QUARTERLY FEE PAYMENT BY CERTAIN EMPLOYERS AND FRANCHISORS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require employers with over five hundred employees in the state and franchisors that, combined with their franchisees, employ at least five hundred employees in the state, pay a quarterly fee to the Labor Commissioner based in part on the number of hours worked by employees who were paid on average less than fifteen dollars per hour during the quarter.
Statement of Purpose:
To require certain employers and franchisors to pay a quarterly fee based in part on the number of hours worked by employees who were paid on average less than fifteen dollars per hour during the quarter.
