AN ACT RESTORING THE EXEMPTION ON WATER COMPANIES FROM THE SALES AND USE TAX.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 12-412 of the general statutes be amended to restore the exemption from the sales and use tax on water companies as was previously set forth in subdivision (90) of section 12-412 of the general statutes.

Statement of Purpose:

To equalize the burden placed on businesses and residents of municipalities served by private water companies by restoring the exemption from the sales and use tax on water companies.
