AN ACT CONCERNING COORDINATION OF FISCAL YEARS FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE STATE AND MUNICIPAL BUDGETS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the state and municipalities to use the same fiscal years for preparation of their budgets, and that such coordination of fiscal years occurs within the next two state biennial budget cycles.

Statement of Purpose:

To coordinate state and municipal budget calendars so that towns have more timely information from the state before finalizing their budgets.
