Summary

To (1) require that (A) each health carrier doing health insurance business in this state submit an annual report concerning parity for mental health and substance use disorder benefits, and (B) the committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to insurance conduct a public hearing concerning (i) all such reports, and (ii) compliance with the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, P.L. 110-343, and (2) expand coverage, and prohibit use of prior authorization and step therapy, for certain prescription drugs.
