Existing law authorizes the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District to take by gift, or take or convey by grant, purchase, devise, or lease, and hold and enjoy, real and personal property of every kind within and without the district necessary for, incidental to, or convenient for, transit-oriented joint development projects, as commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments that are undertaken in connection with existing, planned, or proposed transit facilities and are located1/4 mile or less from the external boundaries of that facility.
This bill would extend the maximum distance in that definition to1/2 mile.
