An act to amend Section 1504 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to community care facilities.

SB 526, as introduced, Nielsen. Community care facilities: special permits.
Existing law provides for the licensing and regulation of community care facilities, including residential facilities, adult day programs, foster family homes, community treatment facilities, and others, by the State Department of Social Services.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 1504 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read:

1504.
 (a) As used in this chapter, “special permit” means a permit issued by the state department authorizing a community care facility to offer specialized services as designated by the director in regulations.

(b) A special permit shall not be transferable.
