This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would create a nursing pilot program in a specified number of senior affordable housing developments in 5 counties for 5 years to require collaboration between an onsite nurse who provides necessary health care and onsite coordinators who facilitate other services that enable residents to remain living independently, and avoid costly and unnecessary hospitalizations and long-term care facility stays.
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to create a five-year nursing pilot program in a specified number of senior affordable housing developments in five counties that requires all of the following:
(a)Collaboration between an onsite nurse who provides necessary health care and onsite coordinators who facilitate other services that enable residents to remain living independently, and avoid costly and unnecessary hospitalizations and long-term care facility stays.
(b)Reporting to the Legislature, the California Health and Human Services Agency, and the
Department of Housing and Community Development on or before January 1, 2024.
