Senate Bill
No. 1191

An act to amend Section 14124.20 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, relating to Medi-Cal.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 1191, as introduced, Bates. Drug Medi-Cal Treatment Program.
Existing law provides for the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services and under which qualified low-income individuals receive health care benefits, including substance use disorder services. The Medi-Cal program is, in part, governed and funded by federal Medicaid provisions. Existing law also provides for the Drug Medi-Cal Treatment Program (Drug Medi-Cal).
Existing law authorizes the department to enter into a Drug Medi-Cal contract with each county to provide alcohol and drug use services within the county service area. Existing law authorizes a county that has multiple contracts with the department for providing multiple alcohol and drug use services to enter into a single contract with the department.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
