An act to add Section 13249 to the Water Code, relating to water quality.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 1133, Portantino. Water quality control plans: funding.
Existing law, the Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, requires each California regional water quality control board to adopt water quality control plans and to establish water quality objectives in those plans, considering certain factors, to ensure the reasonable protection of beneficial uses and the prevention of nuisance.
This bill would authorize the State Water Resources Control Board, on behalf of itself or a regional board, to accept donations of moneys from a permittee for the purpose of updating a water quality control plan.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: YES   Local Program: NO
