An act relating to transportation.

SB 1121, as introduced, Gonzalez. Transportation funding: plan.
Existing law establishes the Transportation Agency, which consists of various departments and state entities, including the California Transportation Commission and the Department of Transportation. Existing law establishes a policy for expenditure of certain state and federal funds available to the state for transportation purposes. Under this policy, the department and the commission are required to develop a fund estimate of available funds for purposes of adopting the state transportation improvement program, which is a listing of capital improvement projects.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to determine the level of government-provided capital and operating expenditures to meet the state’s transportation needs for the next 10 years and to develop a plan to provide for those needs.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to determine the level of government-provided capital and operating expenditures to meet the state’s transportation needs for the next 10 years and to develop a plan to provide for those needs.
