CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2019–2020 REGULAR SESSION

Senate Bill
No. 1038

Introduced by Senator Grove

February 14, 2020

An act to amend Section 1038.5 of the Military and Veterans Code, relating to veterans.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 1038, as introduced, Grove. Veterans: institutions.
Existing law establishes the Veteran’s Home of California system within the Department of Veterans Affairs. Veterans who are residents of a veterans’ home are called “members.” Under existing law, members may voluntarily deposit funds with a home and may withdraw those funds at will, and the funds are credited with interest that is to be paid to the member or to the member’s estate.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to this provision.
