Existing law, the Radiologic Technology Act, requires the State Department of Public Health to provide, upon recommendation of the Radiologic Technology Certification Committee, for the certification of healing arts licensees to supervise the operation of X-ray machines or to operate X-ray machines, or both, prescribe minimum standards of training and experience for these licensees, and prescribe procedures for examining applicants for certification.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would modernize California’s radiology certification and permitting process for physicians and surgeons and doctors of podiatric medicine.
