   An act to amend Section 66025.7 of the Education Code, relating to
public postsecondary education.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 343, as introduced, Melendez. Public postsecondary education:
academic credit for prior military experience.
   Existing law requires the Chancellor of the California Community
Colleges to determine courses for which credit should be awarded for
prior military experience.
   This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to this provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 66025.7 of the Education Code is amended to
read:
   66025.7.  By July 1, 2015, the Chancellor of the California
Community Colleges, using common course descriptors and pertinent
recommendations  of   from  the American
Council on Education, shall determine for which courses credit should
be awarded for prior military experience.
