CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2019–2020 REGULAR SESSION

Assembly Bill
No. 3293

Introduced by Assembly Member Brough

February 21, 2020

An act to amend Section 12301.17 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, relating to public social services.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 3293, as introduced, Brough. In-home supportive services.
Existing law establishes the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program, administered by the State Department of Social Services and counties, under which qualified aged, blind, and disabled persons are provided with services in order to permit them to remain in their own homes. Existing law requires each county human services agency to accept applications for IHSS benefits by telephone, through facsimile, or in person, or, if the county is capable of accepting online applications or applications via email for IHSS benefits, by email or other electronic means.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 12301.17 of the Welfare and Institutions Code is amended to read:
