Existing law law, subject to an appropriation, requires the California Department of Aging, in consultation with the California Commission on Aging, to enter into a contract with an entity a research-based university gerontology department, as specified, to develop information and materials relating to the concept of “aging in place” and the benefits of home modification for seniors. Existing law requires the department to distribute that material
information to area agencies on aging and other appropriate entities.
This bill would require the department to update that information and materials
the above information and materials, as specified, to include information on the benefits of accessory dwelling units as a type of home modification to help Californians age in place, and to prominently post the above-specified distributed material distributed information on its internet website.
