urging the arizona state board on geographic and historic names and the united states board on geographic names to name the highest peak in the estrella mountain regional park as keating peak.

To the Directors of the Arizona State Board on Geographic and Historic Names and the United States Board on Geographic Names:

Your memorialist respectfully represents:

Whereas, United States Navy SEAL Charles Humphrey Keating IV served this country with honor and distinction and gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend this nation on May 3, 2016; and

Whereas, Charles Keating IV was raised in Maricopa County and was a 2004 graduate of Arcadia High School, where he was city and regional track champion and earned all-city and first-team all-state honors; and

Whereas, Charles Keating IV died during combat operations in Iraq in support of the war against ISIS; and

Whereas, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has requested naming the highest peak in the Estrella Mountain Regional Park in honor of Charles H. Keating IV in recognition of his tremendous service to the United States of America.

Wherefore your memorialist, the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring, prays:

1.  That the Arizona State Board on Geographic and Historic Names and the United States Board on Geographic Names take the appropriate steps to name Keating Peak in the Estrella Mountain Regional Park in honor of Charles Keating IV.

2.  That the Secretary of State of the State of Arizona transmit copies of this Memorial to the chairman of the Arizona State Board on Geographic and Historic Names, the chairman of the United States Board on Geographic Names and each Member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.
